Certified pet groomer
I became a pet groomer in 2015 and worked in high-stress salons until 2020. Then, I changed my approach and became a cooperative care groomer. I use collaborative care training and positive reinforcement techniques to reduce stress and help my canine clients who struggle with grooming visits.
Certified animal trainer
Having trained multiple species of animals with different schools, I am most knowledgeable with dogs, cats, small parrots, and large lizards. The Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner program requires us to train a non-dog species; I chose to work with my parrot and had great success!
Certified canine behavior consultant
There is a difference between a dog trainer and a behavior consultant. As a behavior consultant certified by Dogue Shop, I gained additional knowledge in neuroscience, ethology, and animal behavior analysis. Having the knowledge and experience to analyze and modify behavior without force, fear, intimidation, or pain has enabled me to work successfully with various cases. I see this as my most vital asset.
Certified pet first aid instructor
My youngest dog had her first seizure at nine months of age, and this was a terrifying experience for us both. I wanted to help other pet owners be prepared for such emergencies. I found Walks’N’Wags through an internet search, found a local class, and went to get certified. I then applied to become an instructor for the company in 2018 and have happily provided pet owners and professionals with this fantastic certification.

I will never use force, fear, intimidation, or any tools that cause pain or discomfort to your pet. Instead, I focus on reinforcing the good behaviors to replace the old and unwanted behaviors. Should your pet get something wrong, I will ignore it and set them up for better success on the following trial. I am highly creative with my personalized training plans and adaptable to many learning styles and environments.
